MAIS Authorised Agents

Within the University, people in a number of positions have the authority to act as a MAIS Authorised Agent for an organisation unit. For example, a person in a position of School Dean or School Manager may have this authority for a School; or a person identified as a senior administrative officer, eg. a Director, or a Business Manager, may have this authority for an Office in an administrative division.

To identify the MAIS Authorised Agent, please select the appropriate organisational area from the list below.

A MAIS Authorised Agent may only authorise requests from persons in the organisational area for which they are the nominated agent.

Requests are of four types:

A Murdoch Username and Murdoch Password, where the person
- is not included in the Human Resources System (eg. contractor, consultant)
- and requires a 'MAIS Other' entry in the database of the Murdoch Authentication & Identification System (MAIS)

A new Murdoch Password, where the person
- is a 'MAIS Other'
- and is currently off-campus and unable to attend in person the IT Service Desk counter (Library, North Wing, Level 2 - Murdoch Campus)
- and has either forgotten their password, or believes it has been compromised
A new Murdoch Password, where the person
- is a staff member
- and is currently off-campus and unable to attend in person the IT Service Desk counter (Library, North Wing, Level 2 - Murdoch Campus)
- and has either forgotten their password, or believes it has been compromised

Extended access, where the person
- is a staff, student, or a 'MAIS Other'
- uses systems and services that are authenticated by Active Directory
- and requires access to some computer resources beyond their "active" status (ie. beyond their employment, contract, or enrolment expiry date)

Before visiting your MAIS Authorised Agent in person, please obtain a copy of the appropriate form that you need them to sign. The form may be one of the following, or included on the forms listing maintained by the Office of Information Technology Services.
If you are off-campus, please provide your MAIS Authorised Agent with your details, such as your Murdoch Username (ie. Staff Number or Person Number), so that they, and a delegate nominated by them to attend the IT Service Desk counter on your behalf, may complete the appropriate form for you.
