Honorary Degree Recipients (1975 - Current)
The award of an honorary degree is the highest award that Murdoch University
can bestow to honour individuals who have served prominently in public life or
contributed significantly to the application of knowledge in society.
Candidates for honorary doctorates of Murdoch University have made an
outstanding contribution in one or more of the following categories:
- intellectual achievement in any field of endeavour;
- community service;
- service to the University.
They will normally have demonstrated significant direct or indirect
association with Western Australia (through residence or employment), or with
the affairs of Murdoch University itself or with one of the academic disciplines
pursued at the University.
Honorary Master's degrees are reserved for non-academic members of
Murdoch staff who have rendered invaluable assistance to the teaching or
research efforts of the University over a significant period of time or for
non-academic members of the community who have contributed to research activity
deemed to be of particular value to Murdoch University or to the State of
Western Australia.
