Violence, Aggression and Bullying in the Workplace
Murdoch University is committed to providing a workplace that is free from violence,
aggression, and bullying. The Violence, Aggression, and Bullying in the Workplace Policy describes those behaviours that are not acceptable so that all staff are aware as to acceptable standards of behaviour in the workplace.

The Personal Relationships between Staff Members Policy provides advice and guidance on staff members' work relationships, and protects the interests of Murdoch students. Staff have a responsibility not to abuse positions of power or trust in staff and/or student relationships.

Grievance and Complaint Procedures
General Grievances
The Murdoch University Academic Staff Enterprise Agreement 2010 provides, at clause 46, a process for dealing with general problems, concerns, or complaints relating to work, workload or the work environment for Academic Staff. This process can be used for any grievance for which a separate process does not exist.

Dispute Settlement Procedure
Both the Murdoch University Academic Staff Agreement 2010 (at clause 45) and the Murdoch University General Staff Agreement 2010 (at clause 42) provide a Dispute Settlement Procedure for any disputes relating to a matter arising under the Agreements, or a matter arising out of the National Employment Standards. These procedures are intended to be used for disputes relating to conditions of employment and are not appropriate for resolving general grievances.

Equal Opportunity Grievance Management Procedure
Murdoch has established the following Equal Opportunity Grievance Management Procedure in order to assist in managing any instances of unlawful discrimination and/or unlawful harassment as empathetically, promptly and confidentially as possible. It should be recognised that this procedure is a guide only and can be altered to suit the different needs of each individual grievance.

Research Misconduct
Murdoch University is currently developing a policy and a procedure for dealing with allegations of research misconduct. In the meantime if an individual has an issue with the conduct of research they should contact the Research Ethics and Integrity Office on 9360 6170.
