Office of Legal and Governance

The Secretariat team supports a wide range of University governance activities.

In particular, this involves ensuring the effective and efficient operation of:

• Senate and its standing committees;
• Academic Council and its standing committees and working parties; and
• The incorporated entities in which the University has a controlling interest.

Support is provided for student appeals and disciplinary processes and for University elections, and the Secretariat is also responsible for managing the University’s legislative framework.

The Secretariat also provides governance advice to the Chancellor and other members of Senate and the Senior Executive.
