TOU210: Cultural Tourism Interpretation (Not available in 2010)

This unit explores tourism which is constructed around heritage, history and tradition, religion, the arts (music, dance, festivals, sculpture, painting, handicrafts, gastronomy), special events, and museum activities. It examines the impacts of tourism on cultural and social forms in the context of sustainable tourism, and the concepts of authenticity and accuracy, of interpretation and representation, of education and entertainment which are embedded in these tourist practices.
