THE284: Old Testament Exegesis
This unit provides detailed study of major blocks of material from the Old Testament, enabling students to develop skills in a variety of exegetical approaches while examining literary, historical, sociological and theological features. There will be opportunity to use Biblical Hebrew, but ability to read Hebrew is not essential and is not part of assessment. Each semester will have a different focus, and the unit may be taken more than once, with different content.

| Exclusions | Students who have successfully completed this unit or S216 Pentateuch or S235 Poetical Literature of Ancient Israel or S236 Wisdom Literature of Ancient Israel may enrol in the parallel 200-level unit for credit and vice versa where the selected writings are different.
