THE102: New Testament and its World

Introduces students to the literature of the New Testament, including an overview of the contents and major themes of the writings and study of selected passages. The unit also introduces students to the socio-economic, political, and wider religious setting of the writings as well as their relationship to the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth and of the first century church. Students are introduced to the main methods and issues in modern study of the New Testament.
