STP302: Sustainability for Professionals

Sustainability provides an integrative, long-term and community-engaging approach to thinking and action. This unit provides a theoretical and practical approach to how professionals can begin to address sustainability. It shows how partnerships can be created between government, including local government, business and the community. It examines tools such as organisational vision generation, sustainability assessment, reporting, regional sustainability strategies, voluntary covenants, accreditation, procurement, ecological footprint, local planning schemes, technology facilitation, industrial ecology, workforce engagement, deliberative democracy processes and community visioning.
