PSY621: Counselling: Placement and Supervision Group 2

Students complete their second placement in an external counselling environment, working with the supervision of a practising counsellor. Students participate in group supervision on campus, providing a link between training and supervision within the University and work and supervision on external placement. Counselling relationships, supervisory relationships, case conceptualisation and intervention are key elements in this unit. Understanding of issues relating to ethical conduct, indigenous and CALD perspectives and professional practice are developed through group supervision and seminars.

Assessment	An award of Ungraded Pass or Fail is awarded for this unit.
Contact Time	48 days of placement in consultation with the Placement Coordinator, plus up to 3 hours per fortnight group supervision.
Prerequisites	PSY522 Counselling Practicum I or permission of Academic Chair.
