PHA762: Pharmacy Business Management

Introduces pharmacy students to areas of business activity, which may be useful to help cope with their chosen work environment. The unit considers business structures and the legal environment, basic concepts of marketing, organisational and personnel behaviour, financial reporting and analysis and cost-effective medication consumption. Business planning, sources of information, and intellectual property including patents of drugs and the process of protecting new inventions, will also be covered. Ethics, as relates to business management practices and good corporate governance.
