PHA622: Molecular Therapeutics

This unit introduces models of new and experimental drug regimes, recognising the concept of the molecular basis of therapy and new approaches to biomedical research. It provides knowledge of molecular biology and its application to elucidate mechanisms of various disease states and information that may be used in new treatments. Topics to be studied will include the human genome, the exploration and manipulation of genes, the molecular basis of disease and pharmaceutical biotechnology and case studies of major disease states.

Prerequisites

Enrolment in the Master of Pharmacy; Completion of 1st Year of Master of Pharmacy; PHA603 Pharmaceutical Chemistry III.
