PHA512: Pharmaceutics II

This unit incorporates the knowledge and skill required for pharmacists to prepare pharmaceutical products in a retail, hospital and industrial environment. Topics: composite understanding of aseptic technique for sterile drug production; cytotoxic handling; theory and preparation of radiopharmaceuticals; code of good manufacturing practice; drug stability; quality assurance and quality control; radiopharmacy; bioequivalence and preservation of formulations; as well as an opportunity to implement these skills in practical classes and laboratory sessions. This fulfils a major competency required by the profession.
