PEC623: Renewable Energy Systems Design

This unit focuses on the design of renewable energy systems and in particular, on estimating the performance and economics of such systems. It will focus heavily on the use of computer-based design and simulation programs to estimate these parameters. The input data requirements, method of operation, and strengths and weaknesses of these computer-based tools will be presented. Practical sessions will allow the student to utilise these tools on a range of applications.

Prerequisites	M492/PEC490/PEC590 Energy Systems or equivalent. Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
Exclusions	Students cannot complete this unit and ENG351 Renewable Energy Design Workshop for credit.
