PEC435: Forensic Science

This unit provides an introduction to a wide range of forensic science techniques and practices (including crime scene, evidence collection and preservation, physico-chemical properties, microscopy, toxicology, chemical analysis, serology, DNA typing etc). The unit makes extensive use of the Internet and other electronic resources and training is provided in research and communication skills through presentation of a major assignment in Microsoft PowerPoint format.

Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.

Exclusions

Students who have completed PEC235 Forensic Science may not enrol in this unit for credit.
