PEC363: Experimental Physics and Nanotechnology

This unit will provide students with an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience with advanced instrumentation used in Physics and Nanoscience/Nanotechnology. This includes experience in using a variety of surface science equipment, electron microscopes and scanning, tunnelling microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Students will also be taught various advanced technology used in the manufacture and purification of nanostructured materials.

Lectures: 1 hour per week; tutorials: 1 hours per week; laboratories: 4 hours per week for 10 weeks.

Prerequisites

PEC261 Applications of Nanotechnology.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
