PEC261: Applications of Nanotechnology

This unit introduces students to the concepts and principles of nanotechnology then looks at current applications in the wide field of nanotechnology.
It covers the concept of nanoparticles and the different methodologies used to manufacture nanostructures. The unit investigates the advanced technologies used to image and manipulate individual atoms and looks at the properties of materials with nanoparticles constituents. It also investigates biological nanoscale mechanisms. Applications covered include: carbon nano-tubes technology: nano-electrics/photonic; quantum devices; solar energy materials.

PEC152 Principles of Physics.
