NUR335: Nursing Specialties -- Clinical Placement

Students will demonstrate learned knowledge, essential nursing skills and competencies within the specialty arenas (Perioperative, ICU, CCU, ED, HDU).  Students will be allocated to a clinical placement under the supervision of a preceptor and clinical nurse educator and will utilise an objective student professional performance tool based on ANMC competencies.

An award of Ungraded Pass or Fail is awarded for this unit.

Contact Time

Clinical Practicum: 8 hours per day for 15 days (120 hours) within the allocated placement period.

Prerequisites

NUR305 Nursing Specialties.
Students who are not concurrently enrolled in NUR305 must undertake revision of the necessary clinical skills in consultation with the Unit Coordinator before undertaking this placement.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
