NUR301: Family and Community Health

This unit explores the history and current context of community nursing. It examines social, environmental, economic and political influences on contemporary community nursing practice within a primary health care framework, and investigates the unique contextual challenges of diverse community settings and specific client groups across the life span. Examination of the scope of practice and varied roles of the community nurse will prepare students for placements in community nursing settings.
