NUR203: Medical and Surgical Nursing I

This unit will address specific physiological and psychological responses and associated nursing care related to various pathophysiological mechanisms of disease.  Knowledge, scenarios, competencies and skills will be relevant to body systems being studied in order to determine best practice nursing care based on evidence and research.  The integration of legal and bioethical principles relevant to clinical practice, along with related pharmacology and therapeutics for the respective systems will be explored.  Students will demonstrate knowledge and competencies in structured clinical practice.
