NUR100: Introduction to the Nursing Profession

This unit will introduce the student to the intricacies of the nursing profession.  It will provide a broad overview of historical and current healthcare trends, concepts and principles underpinning and influencing the profession.  A number of prerequisite competencies, activities of daily living, communication and essential nursing skills will be introduced that are required by students to provide safe nursing care for clients.  These learned competencies will be demonstrated and applied during structured clinical practice.
