MCC316: Radio Project

This advanced radio unit focuses on production projects such as online radio, documentary, oral histories, and feature reporting. Students will hone their skills in story selection and development, research, interviewing, scriptwriting, packaging and use of digital audio equipment. Radio packages will be broadcast on a range of different platforms, e.g. community radio national network, local radio and online.

Enrolment Options

Murdoch: S1-internal (quota of 30 places)

Contact Time

Lectures: 1.5 hours per week; tutorials: 1.5 hours per week.
Note: tutorials begin in week 1.

Prerequisites

MCC244 Radio Presenting and Producing (or MED244 Radio Presenting and Production) OR MCC243 Radio News (or JOU243 Radio News or JOU343 Radio News).

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed MED316 Radio Project may not enrol in this unit for credit.

Notes

Graduate, Postgraduate and Honours students should enrol in the higher-level code for this unit.

Quota

This unit is subject to quota. Quota is due to space and equipment constraints and the production intensity. Selection is based on grades achieved in prerequisites. Preference will be given to students in Journalism (BCommun) or Minor in Radio.
