MCC244: Radio Presenting and Producing

This unit introduces students to the real world of live radio broadcasting. Rotating in the roles of producer, presenter and journalist you will produce and present a weekly one-hour magazine program on a local community radio station. Through this practice-based experience you will gain deeper knowledge of the policies and practices of the broadcasting industry while increasing your presenting, writing, researching and broadcast journalism skills.

Enrolment Options

Murdoch: S1-internal (quota of 30 places)

Contact Time

Lectures/seminars: 2 hours per week; tutorials: 1 hour per week; program production: 3 hours per week.
(Note: Lectures and workshops/tutorials commence in Week 1 of the semester).

Prerequisites

MCC105 Introduction to Radio and Sound (or MED117 Introduction to Radio and Print Production or MED117 Introduction to Radio).

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed MED244 Radio Presenting and Producing may not enrol in this unit for credit.

Notes

Graduate, Postgraduate and Honours students should enrol in the higher-level code for this unit.
