MCC128: Screen Production I

This is an introductory unit for students who wish to learn how to produce film and  television. Students are introduced to a variety of existing production crafts that can be applied within a digital video environment. These include scriptwriting, editing, camera, sound and producing. Alongside these practical creative skills, students will develop an understanding of photographic history, style and genre.

Murdoch: S1-internal (quota of 102 places), S2-internal

Contact Time

Lectures: 1 hour per week; workshops: 2 hours per week.
Note: Lectures and workshops/tutorials commence in Week 1 of the semester.

Prerequisites

Nil.

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed MED107 Screen and Sound Production I (TV Studio) or MCC128 Screen and Sound Production I (TV Studio) (or H222 Screen Production) may not enrol in this unit.

Quota

This unit is subject to quota. If a Summer offering is made available it will be subject to quota of 30 places; this is due to space and equipment constraints and the supervision demands of a production environment. Preference will be given to students in
