MBS531: Economics of Globalisation

This unit introduces students to the global forces that are currently determining the state of play in international economics and economic relations. Nationally determined economic management and its effectiveness will receive scrutiny in the light of globalising tendencies. Includes the historical development of globalisation, free trade vs. protectionism, economic integration, world financial markets, multinational corporations, labour and distributional issues, the environment, global economic institutions, and the rise of anti-globalisation movements.
