LAW341: Conflict of Laws

Explores the effect of jurisdiction, choice of law and the enforcement and recognition of judgements in cases where the dispute crosses legal systems. This may occur in Australia in interstate disputes and in cases where one party is foreign. In essence this unit is concerned with resolving conflicts that arise because of the interaction between two different legal systems. As these rules vary between different legal systems, this knowledge is essential for lawyers operating in a globalised world.
