KAC069: Orientation Science B

This unit is an introduction to the study of chemistry for those students with little or no background in this subject. On completion of this unit students should have a good understanding of elements and compounds, mass mole calculations, structure and bonding, solids, liquids and gases and energy in chemical reactions. Students will also be introduced to equilibrium in chemical reactions, acids and bases, oxidation and reduction reactions.

Prerequisites

This unit is restricted to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students entering the Kulbardi Aboriginal Tertiary Entrance Course (KATEC).
