KAC061: Foundations of Formal Writing

This unit introduces students to the foundations of formal writing in preparation for academic studies. Students will be provided with the opportunity to develop basic writing, revision and editing skills. Students will be encouraged to keep up to date with current events by reading widely, developing reading skills in conjunction with writing practice. Through a process which focuses on developing formal essay writing skills, students will produce an essay based on research in preparation for academic writing.

Lectures/tutorials: 2 hours per week.

Prerequisites

This unit is restricted to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students entering the Kulbardi Aboriginal Tertiary Entrance Course (KATEC).
