ICT211: Web Computing

This unit provides an intermediate technical understanding and practical experience in Internet and Web technologies. Topics include: design and implementation of web sites using languages and tools such as XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL; administration of web servers on a Unix system, an introduction to Internet security and Ajax technology.

Lectures and practice sessions: up to 4 hours per week.

Prerequisites

B108/ICT108 Introduction to Multimedia and the Internet or B102/ICT102 Introduction to Computer Science.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed B211 Internet Computing may not enrol in this unit for credit.
