ICT105: Introduction to Information Technology

This unit provides an introduction to computer and information technologies. It investigates the nature and value of information, computer hardware, software and communications technologies and their convergence, human-computer interaction, computer-based information systems, and the impact of information technology on organisations and society. The theory will be complemented by practical work using the major types of end-user software used in organisations today (for example, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics).
