FDN130: Age of Information (Not available in 2010)

This unit provides students with a critical understanding of the ways that technological developments impact on their world. The unit covers four broad areas: the historical development of the 'age of information'; the political impact of the new technologies; the problems that arise in the legal domain especially in relation to information ownership and cybercrime; and the critical analysis of such themes as advertisements, talkback radio and reality TV.
