ENG454: Industrial Computer Systems Design
This unit is concerned with the design, specification, and implementation of a process control system, with emphasis upon the industrial computer system, including the following aspects: operator interfaces, historical trending, alarms, interlocks, safety, I/O cabling and wiring, software architecture, point configuration, real-time database startup and shutdown, simulation, testing commissioning and documentation. The unit will require students to implement practical solutions to industrial problems drawing upon their background in preceding units.
