ENG420: Instrumentation and Control Systems Design
The unit provides a strong foundation in a number of advanced control topics such as Multivariable Systems, Relative Gain Array and its use in loop selection, Decoupler Design, Model Predictive Control, Generic Model Control and Fuzzy Control Design. Various types of conventional and advanced control techniques will be designed in Matlab/Simulink, then implemented into an industrial Pilot Plant and finally their performances are compared using different control performance measures.
