ENG241: Principles of Process Engineering

In this unit students learn about processes and process variables and variable measurement techniques. They will implement the knowledge gained in chemistry to engineering applications through drawing flowcharts of a process, performing mass and energy balance calculations and applying these steps to industrial cases. Teamwork and the use of technology tools to enhance problem solving capabilities are developed. Specifically, the aspects of process analysis covered include: engineering problem analysis, material and energy balances, and computer-aided balance calculations.
