EGL234: Literary Journalism

Literary journalism combines the finest traditions of print journalism and creative writing, using fictional techniques in the telling of factual stories. Students will explore the theory and history of literary journalism. They will also be required to produce a piece of literary journalism.

Prerequisites

MCC104 Introduction to Journalism OR JOU220 Principles of Journalism OR EGL122 Creative Writing: Text and Practice I OR EGL269 Creative Writing: Text and Practice II.

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed JOU225/JOU425/MCC234/MCC534 Literary Journalism may not enrol in this unit for credit.

Notes

Graduate, Postgraduate and Honours students should enrol in the higher-level code for this unit.
