EGL151: English Language Studies
Develops English language skills and cultural understanding of students from other language and cultural backgrounds in both academic and general contexts. Topics include adjusting to the Australian university culture and its values, standards and expectations, and the dominant values and characteristics of mainstream Australian culture. Students will reflect on the similarities and differences they encounter with their own educational and cultural background and experiences. Lectures, tutorials and other cultural activities are designed to enrich the learning outcomes in this unit.
