EDU639: Quantitative Approaches to Research
The unit addresses designs and methods of quantitative research used in educational and social science inquiry. Students will consider how quantitative data are generated, analysed and interpreted in research and evaluation projects in education and the social sciences. The unit will include a variety of research designs; methods for collecting data using different formats; confirming the quality of data for the purposes for which they are collected; relating sets of data; and methods for comparing groups.

| Prerequisites | EDU403/603 Introduction to Research for Educators or permission from the Unit Coordinator.
For the 600-level version of the unit students must be enrolled in a Postgraduate qualification.
For the 700-level unit students must be enrolled in the Doctor of Education.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.

| Exclusions | Students who have successfully completed A440 Research Design and Analysis for the Social Sciences or E433/E633 Quantitative Research Methods may not enrol in this unit for credit.
