EDU464: Reading through Multiliteracies
Provides opportunities to extend understanding about teaching and learning reading, with a focus on Years 1 through 10. Aiming to develop theoretically informed pedagogy, considering the impact of children's literature as well as media and technology on learners, current strategies for teaching reading will be critically examined. Processes from emergent to independent reading will be analysed from a multiliteracies perspective. Topics such as implementing literacy programs that consider learner differences in language, culture, gender and ability, will be discussed.
