EDU451: Creating Effective Learning Environments

This unit focuses on ways of enhancing the learning of all students by examining the cognitive, emotional, social and behavioural factors which impact on the ecology of inclusive learning environments. It considers whole school, community, classroom and individual teaching and learning adjustments to meet diverse student needs. Students enrolled in the Inclusive Education minor will focus on the needs of students requiring high levels of adjustments including students with challenging behaviour, cognitive impairment and learning difficulties.

Prerequisites	As for EDU251 or enrolment in the Graduate Certificate in Special Needs Education. Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
Notes	Students currently enrolled, or intending to enrol, in the Special Education/Inclusive Education minor should enrol in the higher-level version of this unit.
