EDU359: Health and Physical Education and the Curriculum (Not available in 2010)

This unit prepares students for teaching health and physical education in secondary schools. The emphasis is on the construction of a teaching practice which integrates knowledge with practical strategies for effective learning. The unit emphasises the development of effective teaching for outcomes including skills for physical activity, self-management skills, interpersonal skills and the values, knowledge and understandings related to the promotion and maintenance of healthy and active lifestyles for learners.

Prerequisites

Enrolment in BEd (Secondary) or BEd (Secondary) (Graduate) or GradDipEd (Secondary) AND have successfully completed EDU101/EDU1011 Introduction to Teaching.
