EDU274: Science and the Curriculum (Secondary)
This unit, through campus learning activities, aims to develop in students:
an awareness of, and competence with, methods used to promote working scientifically in secondary science classrooms;
knowledge of curriculum developments in secondary science, and the ability to assess the suitability of these developments for local schools; and
a concern for, and competence with, strategies for promoting student interest in science.
All students will be equipped to teach both physical science and biological science in Years 8 to 10.

| Prerequisites | Enrolment in a teacher education course [either BEd (Secondary) or BEd (Secondary) (Graduate) or GradDipEd (Primary) or GradDipEd (Secondary)], AND have successfully completed EDU101/EDU1011 Introduction to Teaching and a major in a science discipline relevant to high school science teaching.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
