EDU2401: Facilitating Lifelong Learning
Promotes an understanding of what facilitates adult and lifelong learning in education and work. Students develop knowledge and skills for reflective professional practice and action research. Cognitive and sociocultural approaches to understanding learning and motivation are introduced as the conceptual basis for designing effective instruction, mentoring, team work, course evaluation and assessment of learning. Case studies of innovative teaching/learning or assessment practices are examined. In the 6-point version, students also focus on their professional development as adult educators.
