CHI281: Chiropractic Biochemistry

Knowledge of intermediary metabolism and molecular biology is central to the understanding of the normal healthy metabolic state in humans, from which the disturbances in metabolism associated with disease and principles of treatment can be better appreciated. The unit emphasises the conceptual understanding of metabolism and metabolic principles will be used as a foundation for basic human nutrition.

Lectures: 4 hours per week; practical/tutorials: 3 hours per week.

Prerequisites

Enrolment in Chiropractic and completion of Part I units.

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed N270/BIO270 Biochemistry I or V261/BMS261 Human and Comparative Biochemistry may not enrol in this unit for credit.
