CHI209: Biomechanics and Diagnostic Palpation Skills

Emphasises the concepts of a thorough investigation and evaluation of a patient from a biomechanical and palpatory process. Deals with the history, philosophy and principles of chiropractic practice, and the biomechanics of joints and muscles. Details include palpatory techniques, soft tissue and bony, positioning and topographical surface anatomy skills, biomechanical examination and manipulative skills. Develop motion palpation skills for the analysis of the joints and soft tissues of the entire body. Incorporates a radiographic normal anatomy and marking stream.

CHI124 Principles of Sports Science or CHI109 Chiropractic Skills and Principles I; CHI108 Functional Human Anatomy or BMS108 Comparative Musculoskeletal Anatomy.
