BUS319: International Accounting (Not available in 2010)

The growth in size and number of multinational companies has added a new dimension to the problem of reporting accounting information. This unit examines the environmental factors driving accounting systems, together with the influence of the International Accounting Standards Committee on global standard setting (focusing on the Asia-Pacific region). Foreign currency translation, transfer pricing, auditing and taxation are examined in an international context. Classes are taught as integrated seminars with the emphasis on business managers' use of accounting information.
