BUS315: Topics in Taxation

This unit provides for a more intensive study of contemporary issues, including Goods and Services Tax and Fringe Benefits Tax, in Australian taxation. It will attempt to integrate fundamental tax concepts and principles into practical situations, having regard to the underlying premise that virtually every financial or commercial transaction has taxation implications. The focus is on those aspects of the tax system of practical concern to most taxpayers in developing tax-effective business and financial strategies in a self-assessment compliance system.
