BUS261: Microeconomics A

This unit provides a foundation in intermediate microeconomics. Topics covered include the neoclassical theories of choice and supply, the models of perfect competition, monopoly and oligopoly, and general equilibrium analysis is introduced. The efficiency properties of a competitive general equilibrium are also considered. Applications of theory are considered throughout the unit.

Prerequisites

C161/BUS161 Introduction to Economics or enrolment in a postgraduate course.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.

Students enrolled in a postgraduate course should ensure that they are familiar with introductory texts in micro- and macroeconomics.
