BUS234: Chinese Economy

China's modernisation will launch it into global market dominance in the 21st century, perhaps overtaking the United States by 2030. This unit investigates the path taken by China to reach its current status, and looks ahead at its potential to become a global superpower. Topics: China's economic policies; economic growth; labour markets; foreign trade and investment; foreign exchange and financial markets; manufacturing industries; post-WTO economic reforms; multinational business experiences.

Nil.
Recommended: C161/BUS161 Introduction to Economics.
No knowledge of the Chinese language is required.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
