BUS228: Workplace Law

This unit examines the legal relationship between an employer and employee. It begins with a study of the individual contract of employment focusing on the rights and duties of employers and employees, and then proceeds to take an overview of Australian workplace law. A particular interest is taken in the legislated standards, regulation of collective bargaining, industrial action, dismissal and discrimination. This unit is part of the Human Resource Management and Management majors and minors.

C165/BUS165 Principles of Commercial Law.

Exclusions

Students who have successfully completed L363/LAW363 Employment Relations Law may not enrol in this unit for credit.
