BUS215: Business Feasibility and Management Concepts

Introduces students from disciplines other than commerce to areas of business feasibility and management planning activity which may be useful to graduates within their chosen work environment. The unit considers business structures, legal and intellectual property issues, concepts of marketing, organisational and personnel behaviour and financial planning. Business planning, feasibility, and business research methods will also be considered from both an entrepreneurial and business perspective. There will be a strong focus towards technology and science based commercialisation and related issues.

Lectures: 2 hours per week; workshops: 1 hour per week.

Prerequisites

Enrolment in any major except for Accounting, Banking, Business Law, Chinese Business, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management (Commerce major)*, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing Management.

Notes

Students enrolled in Murdoch Business School majors, except for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation major, will not be permitted to enrol in this unit for credit.
They should consider BUS274 Entrepreneurship in Organisations.
* The Bachelor of Tourism 'Hospitality and Tourism Management' major has this unit as a Specified Elective, so these students will be permitted to enrol.
