BIO542: Law of Evidence in Investigations
This unit, designed for professionals working in investigations, provides an advanced understanding of the law of evidence in an applied investigative context. Students will cover topics related to the collection of evidence pertinent to criminal prosecutions in a commercial context. Topics include: interviewing; law of conspiracy; relevant case law and legislation; research tools to explore evidentiary questions: privilege; expert opinion evidence; DNA; comparisons; computer forensics; propensity, documentary and confessional evidence; unlawfully obtained evidence.
